| Horizon Brand Timothy has been selected from a Japanese breeding program which is breeding timothy for traits beneficial to our export timothy hay market. The most notable trait that the breeder has been successfully selecting for is increased tonnage via increased crop height. If all other agronomic traits were to only equal that of timothies currently grown for export quality hay, the increased tonnage alone would put significantly more dollars in the hay producers pocket. However, the breeder has also selected for improved disease resistance, earlier maturity, and rapid regrowth, all in a erect growth habit type timothy plant. All of these a superior timothy crop. | |
